What is True Yarn?
Hello! My name is Michael Tipton and I’m the Founder of True Yarn Branding. I began this company after spending the last 20 years in sales and marketing; from a lone wolf salesperson to being a VP of Sales & Marketing to being a COO. I have worked for and with brands $1M to $80M throughout my career, either as a consultant for their marketing and sales plans or overseeing teams that drive growth.
I am also a storyteller in my own right. Aside of my extensive branding experience, I am a Father of 4, a successful songwriter, and have gathered a lifetime of stories from travels that shape my unique perspective. A great story, to me, is grounded in truth but can be easily retold over time. This is my foundational approach to crafting Founder-led Brand Narratives.
What I have found out throughout my experience is that often the brand identity gets lost or shrouded in times of intense focus on revenue growth. When that happens, sales teams tend to focus on products and services solely, leaving them drowning in a sea of sameness in their competitive marketplace. In the vacuum of a a brand story, too often the discussions become about pricing instead of value.
By providing Brand Narrative consultation to growth stage brands, I help them solidify their identity as part of their value prop across their products and services. Legacy doesn’t create loyalty or drive sales, Story does.
